Who is Jan ?
A bit about myself and my family
I was born in Bellingham, but most of my childhood was spent moving up and down the coast, to Hawaii and even to
Japan, as a "Military Brat". I treasure that time because I still have close friendships with many of my "Brat" friends.
I married a Marine while living in Japan and I am truly blessed with awesome kids and kids-in-law, who have fulfilled
my life long dream of becoming a grandma.
I have been an animal lover my entire life and honestly can not remember a time that I did not have a pet. I feel
badly for children who have not had the experience of pet ownership, because I think it teaches us at an early age
to be compassionate towards others.
I share a home with my mother and three very spoiled little critters. Our dog, "Joey" (our maltese mix who thinks he is
a cat) and two kittys, "Jazz Purr" (our long haired black and white kitty who thinks she is a dog) and "Kallee" (our long
haired pastel calico who takes great pleasure in making "Jazz" hiss on a daily basis).
Besides caring for my four legged kids, I continue to work at the same Veterinary Hospital (since 1985), where I first
realized the enormous need for "in home" Pet Sitters in Bellingham.
When I am not working, caring for pets, or spending time with my grandbabies, I can often be found enjoying a coffee
and the beautiful scenery at one of my favorite water fronts.
A very important part of my life, (coming from a family of Veterans) is to ensure that our Military AND
Vets, receive the love and support they deserve and that they will NEVER be forgotten.

I was always told that there is no greater joy than becoming a grandma, but I didn't
realize how true that statement was until these precious children came in to my world.
They make my life so complete and I love them more than words could ever describe.
